malignant mesothelioma of the pleura
Monday, June 15th, 2009
Malignant mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer from where the fatal cancer cells into the protective lining of the heart (pericardium), stomach (abdomen) and chest (the pleura), causing a disease that in most cases is not curable. The National Cancer Institute has to say that most of those diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma, people have or have been exposed to asbestos in a workplace or elsewhere who spent enough time to complete the inhalation of asbestos fibers in large quantities. Exposure to asbestos does not necessarily lead to cancerous diseases such as in the case of asbestosis, but chances are that could lead to a cancerous disease such as mesothelioma. The disease is often associated with a long period latency so that workers who are affected during the 40s and 50s are increasingly diagnosed with mesothelioma only now, decades later.
The Asbestos has been declared to be a human carcinogen by many prominent organizations such as the World Health Organization, the Department of Health and Human Services Agency Environmental Protection. Case is established if after inhalation of asbestos causes cancer or at least more likely to cause cancer in an individual. Asbestos causes not only lung cancer but also thickening of the pleura. In recent years it has been definitively established mesothelioma resulting from asbestos exposure in most cases.
The relationship between asbestos and lung cancer has been more or less established. Lung cancer in individuals who have access to asbestos occur at younger earlier than most people suffering from cancer and subjects exposed to asbestos cancer experience in the lower regions of the lungs. This is known as the synergistic effect between asbestos exposure and cigarette smoking and whether the person is a smoker then the chances of contracting lung cancer is very high. Thus, if you have been exposed to asbestos at least you can do to increase your chances of improving conditions of health is to quit. This would reduce the possibilities suffering from lung cancer, even if you happen to be a victim of mesothelioma and.
If a form of cancer from exposure to asbestos is fundamentally noncancerous nature, the potential for becoming malignant, increases with increasing exposure. And this ratio is lower in cases of mesothelioma in the Milder exposure may worsen the situation for the victim. However, cigarettes have no contribution to mesothelioma unless the level of immunity the patient is incredibly low and the reaction can be instigated.
Also asbestos is not only in the atmosphere when used predominantly Asbestos also is in the air around us, but these levels are considerably more tolerable by the body and not harm the system in contrast to the significant quantities which are usually inhaled in construction sites and the like. It is not necessary that all present around a place where asbestos also have much succumb to mesothelioma, but sometimes that happens to one and not another, and that is regrettable. The reasons for such strange happenings have not been explored yet.
