Remission is a term generally used in cancer treatment to refer to a state of absence of any disease activity among patients diagnosed cancer. There are two types of reference according to medical experts, these are: 1) complete remission and 2) partial remission.

Complete remission is the total absence of disease without signs of cancer. Partial remission indicates only tumor shrinkage and reduction of disease with minor symptoms, but still recognizable.

Often reappears mesothelioma cancer after treatment.A cancer recurrence is defined as a return cancer after treatment and after a period of time during which the cancer can not be detected. (The time is not clearly defined.) Same type of cancer may come back where it originated or elsewhere in the body. For example, prostate cancer can return in the area of prostate gland (even if the gland is removed) or may recur in the bones. Either situation is a recurrence of cancer.

Sometimes cancer of progression.Progression gets when the cancer spreads or worsens. It is sometimes difficult to know the difference between the recurrence and progression. For example, if cancer has gone for only 3 months before I return, was it ever really gone? Is this a recurrence or progression?

In mesothelioma, cancer, remission does not occur, this is mainly due to the fact that the majority of mesothelioma cases are detected early, most often at the time of diagnosis Mesothelioma is cancer caused the cancer is already at an advanced stage of stage 3 or stage 4.

However, some doctors have reported a handful of drug cases, and treatment-induced remission. Investigators believe the remission after treatment of mesothelioma or treatment may be linked to causing changes in their immune system booster.

It was noted that many long-term survivors of mesothelioma indicate that swung sharply diet and added daily supplements to boost your immune system. Many of these survivors it enhance the effectiveness of alternative treatments as part of his regime and many have rejected the conventional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.

But that does not mean that conventional treatments have be discounted. There have been a number of cases in patients with mesothelioma have experienced a remission after chemotherapy. There is one reported case of a patient of 71 years Japanese old with a peritoneal mesothelioma, which went into remission after receiving intraperitoneal injections of the chemotherapy drug cisplatin. She also received other chemotherapy drugs administered in the traditional way. The case, as reported by Yokohama City University School of Medicine, considered it quite rare and the disease no less performance than a year later. However, women experienced additional illness of several months free.

Today, with the advent new drugs, treatments, early detection methods and clinical trials referrals are increasingly common. The extra money is now earmarked mesothelioma research and support groups nationwide are getting more donations. Unfortunately, the research still has a long way to go in the conquest of this aggressive disease.

It is therefore advised that the addition mesothelioma patients should take conventional medical treatment such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy also should use other unconventional methods of treatment such as strict diet modification and use of supplements to boost immune as adjunctive therapy to improve their chances of entering remission.
