mesothelioma effects

Am I in a high risk for developing mesothelioma?
The other day I was doing electrical work in an old church. I was wired in the ceiling where tiles had broken and a pile of rubble. In my 8 hours of work there, I can say positively that a pile of rubble, while landed on the head, face and body, and I know a lot of it into his mouth. It was not until I was about 95% done with the work that a colleague told me I should not have done it without a ventilator, due to the fact that asbestos was 1% in the tables. I am very new at work, and I was not aware of any of this. Am at high risk of developing lung problems in the future? If so, how long will it take before I notice the effects?
I believe that a single, relatively brief exposure to asbestos should not put at high risk. My father was an electrician in a steel mill 40 years with long term exposure unprotected asbestos and other contaminants. He developed mesothelioma and lung fibrosis, which ultimately contributed to his early death (age 60). Also was a heavy smoker. Do not freak out about it, but you must control exposure and protect yourself whenever you can. No smoking also helps.
